Gentlemen, It's that time of the year again for the annual Old Boys Six-a-side soccer tournament to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the School's facilities. As you may be aware, last year's event raised Kshs.380,000 (roughly US$5,000 for those in the Diaspora) which went a long way in renovating the up-school washrooms early this year. Taking class representation/teams into consideration, it was a great success since we only had 8 classes participating…
This year's event is slated for Saturday 30 th September 2006 at the school grounds from 8.30am to 4.00pm. Our Old Boys in Barclays Bank have been kind enough to push for the Bank's invaluable sponsorship again, and we look forward to having a turnout and resource-mobilization commensurate to the number of old boys out there (over 10,000 and counting).
The matches are team-based, and a team comprises of 10 members with registration pegged at a minimum Kshs.1.000 per individual member. Ideally the structure of each team should be Members of the same year at Lenana/Duke of York , but the more elderly classes are at liberty to sponsor a Team from the current students, for Kshs.15,000 per team. There is no limit to the number of Teams or amount that a Class can register.
It is our pleasure as the Laibon Committee to invite you to this fun day, and look forward to your confirmation and participation as you visit that aged academic citadel once again. It would also be an opportunity to grab some reasonably-priced Memorabilia as well as regularize your membership (for those yet to do so) with the annual Kshs.1,000 fee. We urge you to join us in this noble venture; hook up with your classmates and register your team; we can help facilitate this for you.
There will be plenty of food and drinks on sale at reasonable rates.
Kindly forward this message to all your former classmates who can attend or sponsor a team from wherever they are, and do make a note in your diary to attend and/or participate; get the legs and vocals pumping again.
Kind regards,
